An eyebrow transplant places fine single-hair grafts from the nape into the brow at a very shallow angle following the direction of growth. Eyebrow hairs leave the skin almost parallel to it, which makes the technique more delicate than a scalp transplant. It is used for gaps caused by over-plucking, scarring, alopecia areata or genetic thinning. Because the transplanted hairs keep the character of scalp hair, they need regular trimming.

Recovery timeline

Frequently asked questions
Will I need to trim them?
Yes. The follicles come from the scalp and keep scalp growth behaviour, so the brows need trimming roughly every two to three weeks. This is not a side effect; it is inherent to the method.
Is it permanent, unlike microblading?
Yes. Microblading is pigment in the skin and fades. A transplant relocates living follicles, so the result is permanent — but it requires the trimming described above.
How many grafts are needed?
Typically a few hundred per brow, depending on the gap and the shape you want. The number is decided after measuring, and symmetry between the two brows is planned before any graft is placed.
Is the procedure painful?
It is performed under local anaesthesia so you feel no pain during it. The brow area is sensitive and mild tenderness for a day or two afterwards is normal.
