PRP & Hair Mesotherapy
Support after a transplant and treatment for early-stage shedding.

PRP is the injection into the scalp of platelet-rich plasma separated from your own blood in a centrifuge. Hair mesotherapy delivers vitamin, mineral and amino acid mixtures by the same method. Neither is a surgical procedure; both aim to support the nourishment of the follicles and slow early-stage shedding. They do not replace a hair transplant — they complement it.
- Session time
- 30 – 45 minutes
- Anaesthesia
- Topical numbing cream if needed
- Back to routine
- Same day
- Best for
- Early shedding, post-transplant support
Who is it for?
Suitable candidates
- Early-stage thinning where the follicles are still active
- Support in the first year after a transplant
- Patients whose shedding is being medically managed alongside
- Anyone not yet a candidate for a transplant who wants to slow the process
When it is not appropriate
- Areas that are fully bald — there are no follicles left to support
- Bleeding or platelet disorders
- Active infection or an inflammatory condition on the scalp
- Patients expecting a transplant-level result from injections alone
Suitability is confirmed only after examination and blood tests. The information on this page is general and does not replace individual medical advice.
How it is done
- 01
Assessment
The scalp is examined and, where needed, blood values are checked first.
- 02
Preparation
For PRP, your own blood is drawn and separated in a centrifuge.
- 03
Application
Micro injections are made across the thinning area in a set pattern.
- 04
Scheduling
Sessions are planned as a course, typically four to six, spaced weeks apart.
Recovery timeline
- Same day
- Mild redness and tenderness; you return to normal activity immediately.
- Weeks 1–4
- Shedding may briefly increase before it settles; this is expected.
- Months 2–3
- Reduced shedding is usually the first noticeable change.
- Months 4–6
- Texture and thickness of existing hair may improve.
- Maintenance
- Repeat sessions are planned according to response, not on a fixed schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Can PRP regrow hair on a bald area?
No. PRP supports follicles that are still present but weakened. Where the follicle is gone, no injection brings it back — that area needs a transplant. Anyone promising otherwise is overstating what the method does.
How many sessions will I need?
A course is usually four to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart, then maintenance according to response. The number is set after assessment, not in advance.
Is it painful?
The injections are brief and superficial. Topical numbing cream is applied if you prefer. Mild tenderness for a day afterwards is normal.
Can I have PRP after a transplant?
Yes, and it is commonly part of the follow-up plan — usually starting a few weeks after the procedure. The timing is decided at your review, not before.
