Autologous Biofiller and Biostimulators

Volume support using your own tissue or collagen-stimulating products.

Autologous Biofiller and Biostimulators

Autologous biofiller is a material prepared from your own fat tissue and used to support volume. Biostimulators, instead of adding volume directly, stimulate the skin's own collagen production to achieve gradual firming. That is the essential difference: one fills, the other stimulates the tissue's own structure. Which is appropriate is decided by weighing skin thickness, the degree of volume loss and your expectation together.

How it is done

  1. 01

    Planning

The degree of volume loss and skin quality are assessed and the method chosen.

  2. 02

    Preparation

For the autologous option fat tissue is taken and processed; for biostimulators the product is prepared.

  3. 03

    Follow-up

A review is done once the swelling settles; a second session is planned if needed.

Afterwards

  • Avoid pressure on the area and sleeping face down for the first 48 hours.
  • Avoid sauna, steam room and strenuous exercise for the first week.
  • Swelling and tenderness are expected findings in the first days.
  • Do not miss the review appointment the physician arranges.

Frequently asked questions

When does a biostimulator show its effect?

Because the collagen response takes time, the effect is gradual; it is generally noticed from weeks 4–8 and becomes clearer as the sessions are completed.

How long does autologous biofiller last?

Because your own tissue is used, part of it can be lasting, but a proportion of the placed volume reduces in the first months. The exact proportion varies between people.

Is it the same as filler?

No. Classic fillers contain hyaluronic acid and add volume directly. Autologous biofiller is your own tissue; biostimulators stimulate collagen production rather than adding volume.
