Pigmentation Treatments

A multi-stage protocol planned according to the type of pigmentation.

Pigmentation Treatments

Pigmentation treatment is not a single procedure but a protocol built around the type of pigmentation. Superficial sun-related marks, hormonally driven melasma and post-inflammatory darkening all behave differently; the same method does not work for all of them. The type is therefore identified first and the combination planned afterwards. Sun protection is not an optional extra in this protocol — it is a required part of it.

Duration
30 – 45 minutes per session
Sessions
4 – 8 sessions depending on the type
Comfort
Topical numbing cream if needed
Downtime
1 – 5 days depending on the method

Who is it for?

Suitable candidates

  • People with superficial sun-related pigmentation
  • People describing hormonally driven melasma
  • People with darkening after acne or trauma
  • People able to comply with home care and sun protection

When it is not appropriate

  • Pregnancy (for some products and methods)
  • An active infection in the treatment area
  • People with recent heavy sun exposure — a waiting period is needed
  • People expecting the pigmentation to disappear completely in one session

Suitability is confirmed only after a physician examination and, where needed, tests. The information on this page is general and does not replace individual medical advice.

How it is done

  1. 01

    Identifying the type

Examination and, where needed, device-assisted assessment establish the type and depth.

  2. 02

    Protocol

The treatment, home care and sun protection plan are set up together.

  3. 03

    Sessions

Chemical peels, mesotherapy or device applications are done at planned intervals.

  4. 04

    Maintenance

Because pigmentation can recur, maintenance care and sun protection continue.

Afterwards

  • Sunscreen is used every day, regardless of the season.
  • Peeling can occur after treatment; do not pick at the crust.
  • Do not use brightening products the physician has not recommended.
  • Hot showers, sauna and steam rooms are not advised in the first days.

Frequently asked questions

Will the pigmentation go completely?

It depends on the type. Superficial sun marks can be lightened markedly; melasma, however, is a chronic picture that can be controlled but may recur. That distinction is discussed openly before treatment starts.

How many sessions are needed?

Generally 4–8 sessions depending on the type and depth. The protocol is updated as the response is monitored.

Is sunscreen essential?

Yes. No pigmentation treatment applied without sun protection gives a lasting result; recurrence becomes the expected outcome.
